Day 4: An Easter of Two Halves

It's been a day of two halves starting with, naturally, the first half.

It began with an email yesterday for a show (I had ticketed) titled "We can't wait to see you at The Cycle Show 2022!" reminding me I had a Sunday ticket with timed entry.

I wondered if I would get in with Albie in arm and decided not to go given the distance, then changed my mind to schlep up to Alexandra Palace with Jnr as it was such a nice day and I'm a bit cabin fevered by now.

It took a while, but it got us out of the house, Albie out of his seclusion, to arrive at the top of a steep hill to find Alexandra Palace, it's huge!

We paced around its dozens of doors and entrances looking for the damn Cycle Show in the hot sun.

In the end I asked two cyclist where the show was, neither knew, so I gave up in disgust, but in taking a picture of Albie I noticed the show is on next Sunday 🤷🏻‍♂️

Going up on the tube I took some water and a bowl this time, when got a hot bus back to Finsbury Park Albie at least appreciated the thought.

I must remember to do this again during summer if we go on another wild goose chase together in the underground heat.

The Second Half: This afternoon was more successful, Jane popped over to Caffe Clappers and when she left I sent to pondering some of the several hair knots around Albie's neck.

These knots make brushing there awkward, but a lightbulb moment!

I have Amelia's fragrant detangle spray and the now defunct syringes, but when filled they now give me pinpoint accuracy where to deploy said liquid onto a knotty fur cluster.

So I sat there with a very compliant Albie, and a pin, teasing the knots apart to the extent they are now all gone, happy dog, happy brushing and no pain!

I forgot to explain the penCam has two purposes, one of course is for A&E to heckle Albie remotely during his convalescence from their holiday hotel, the other for me to check he's not thinking of Nadine and licking his voided scrotum.

That means he doesn't have to wear that red cat straitjacket anymore which I suspect is causing some of the new fur knots, it's just not a good look on a pedigree Pom and now the fresh air and sunshine can reach his gradually healing scar.

Meanwhile sitting in the Eileen Gray chair means Albie can relax next to the open patio door, lie and ponder Nadine with a sometimes glance at me to check I'm still here, I am, reading, surfing or drinking San Miguel.

Someone has to.
